The First Steps To Success

Well I know its been over a week now but I’ve been busy, doing extensive research into strong keywords that I can compete in in a niche that I have selected (I’m not going to reveal exactly yet what my research has unveiled, but I will when things go live). The general rule of thumb that I have used is to target keywords that have less than 100,000 competing sites. This will make it easier to get onto the first page of google using these keywords. Don’t fall into the trap of targeting keywords that are widely searched terms, as although they have very high monthly search volumes they also often have massive numbers of competing sites usually in the millions.

Try to target longer key words, and by this, as an example if you choose a niche like “Golf” don’t use a key word like “golf bag”, expand the term golf  bag by using a term such as “golf bags for women” this will be easier to compete against as it will have significantly less sites on google than the term “golf bag”. Once you have a list of STRONG keywords, your next step is to generate some articles structured around your list of keywords, this will become more clear on my next post.
